    Walk in the footsteps of winemaking legends and learn of their craftsmanship and enduring winemaking philosophy.

    Begin your tour at the original Grange Cottage, the 1844 home of Penfolds founders Dr Christopher and Mary Penfold. Explore the vineyard and discover the underground cellars on a private journey through the heart of our original winery.

    Conclude the tour with an exclusive selection of their most coveted wines, including the flagship Grange in one of their private tasting rooms.

  • The Lane Vineyard – Lunch

    The modern Dining Room sits elevated in the heart of the vineyard overlooking the picturesque Adelaide Hills, enjoy a sumptuous 2 course meal with glass of wine at one of the Hills best restaurants.

  • Shaw + Smith

    Limited Release Flight – Taste five rare and limited aged releases or single site wines accompanied by a South Australian artisan produce plate.  

  • Bird in Hand

    The Bird Experience – Take a seat in the incredible barrel hall and settle in as one of the Bird in Hand wine experts guides you through an intimate tasting of some of their premium wines. This tasting includes four Bird in Hand wines, one Italian range and one museum wine.

Romney Park Wines
Strictly by appointment, Rod and Rachel Shorts' tasting room is the kitchen of their own home! One of Australia's' smallest wineries located on only 7 acres, they do incredible wines including an awesome Sparkling White, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Chardonnay and a stopover at Romney Park is something that I would highly recommend if Rod is available. Depending on Rod's availability, a tour of the vineyard and winery including barrel tasting is something that is a possibility as well.

Somerled Wines
It's been one of my favourites for a long time, an awesome family owned cellar door in the main street of Hahndorf, they do a tasting experience of all their wines including a Sparkling Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Reserve Fume Blanc, Tempranillo and Shiraz. Owner Rob Moody worked for over 30 years at Penfolds (and was involved in making Grange for many years!) and makes beautiful wines.

Sidewood Estate Wines
Located at Maximilians Restaurant and one of my faves, Sidewoods cellar door offer great whites and reds in a fantastic setting. They do a couple of very good Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Sauvignon Blancs and excellent cool climate Shiraz and also offer the Sidewood Golf Challenge where you attempt to hit a hole in one into their floating green (which is always interesting after a couple of wines!).

Hahndorf Hill Winery
They have spectacular views and offer traditional cool climate wines such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. They also have terrific Shiraz and newer varietals such as Gruner Veltliner (a great food friendly white wine) and Blaufrankisch (a very nice 'new age' red). They also offer 'ChocoVino' which is a unique chocolate and wine experience where they match some of the world's most acclaimed chocolates to their wines for around the $20-$25 per person.
