The region prospers from sea breezes, which create consistent growing conditions for producing premium wines, especially Shiraz. There are fantastic examples of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro and Chardonnay, as well as the emerging varietals of Fiano, Tempranillo, Viognier, Marsanne, Rousanne and Sangiovese.
With Premium Wine Tours you will taste wines unavailable to the general public, have the opportunity to purchase wines at discounted prices, and where possible, meet the winemaker, go behind the scenes and experience barrel tasting (subject to availability).
From the family owned boutique wineries, to the strictly by appointment hidden gems or larger iconic wineries, each tour is unique to you and tailored to your individual interests.
Scott encourages his guests to try new wineries and he takes great delight in arranging a personalised itinerary for each tour. Choose wineries you would like to visit, or leave some or the entire itinerary in Scott's capable hands.

d’Arenberg ‘Blending Bench’
The Blending Bench is where the craft of winemaking becomes an art form.
Working with three barrel samples of single vineyard wine, each with distinctive flavours, you are guided through the blending process to create your own personalised Shiraz.
The physical work is done, the picking, fermenting, foot treading and basket pressing, now you have the opportunity to create something truly unique.
Once you’ve selected your final blend, you bottle a 750ml sample and take home to show off to your friends, an awesome experience!
Salopian Inn – Lunch
The Salopian Inn kitchen with renowned chef Karena Armstrong love to cook with only local, seasonal produce. They take great pride in their craft, making all that they offer from scratch.
For over four years, they have been cultivating an organic kitchen garden which now provides a large percentage of fruit, vegetables and herbs for the restaurant. The seasons dictate what they cook to ensure the freshest and best quality ingredients only using pasture-fed, locally sourced beef and lamb, free range poultry and pork as well as Australian caught seafood.
The Tasting Menu showcases their best dishes and you will enjoy a selection of entrées, main courses and dessert and well as a bottle of red or white to share per couple.
Primo Estate – Joseph Experience
Winner of the 2017 Best of Wine Tourism Award, Primo Estate is one of McLaren Vale’s most stylish cellar door.
The ‘Joseph Experience’ is a wonderful sit down experience featuring all of Primo Estate’s premium wines accompanied by crusty bread, Italian cheese and extra virgin olive oil.
Chapel Hill – Icon Tasting
The Icon Range at Chapel Hill comprises their exceptional flagship red wines. They offer a seated tasting of the Icons accompanied by local produce – a plate of matched charcuterie, cheese and crispbread and is a truly unique experience in the region.
